If you're enjoying the puzzles, then you either know this already or you might not want to know it, in which case stop reading.
In any given constellation, if you count the number of paths leading to each star, you will find either only 2 stars with an odd number of paths, or none at all and all of them will have an even number.
If there are 2 stars with an odd number of paths, those are your start and end points. If there are none, then you will finish at the same star you started at and you can start anywhere.
The logic is fairly straightforward, but might not be immediately obvious. Once you know where to start, though, the puzzle gets much easier.
