ME A ist ja größer und offener.

Also wie andere Open World Spiele auch.

◾“Narrative” is purely the lowest difficulty setting, not comparable to ME3′s action mode which removed dialogue choice in favor of pre-scripted cutscenes [x]

◾PC gamers are probably able to adjust their FOV [x]
◾Mechanically, power cells work like grenade ammo did in ME3 [x]
◾ We’ll see a mix of old, new, and revised powers. Pull, for instance, incorporates elements of Lift [x]
◾Generally speaking there are counterbalances built into the crafting system to prevent you making super OP weapons [x]
◾There’s aim assist, and you can disable it if you wish [x], on all platforms [x]
◾You can keep playing the game after finishing the main story - the majority of content including loyalty missions remains available [x]
◾Digital copies of the game will definitely have pre-load. Exact date currently uncertain but it will be close to launch [x]
◾We still need to strip away barriers and shields before the “fun” part of using biotics on enemies begins [x]
◾SMGs are still in the game, filed under the “pistols” category along with hand cannon pistols for the sake of simplicity [x]
◾If you want to you can keep leveling up til you max out every skill [x], but we’ll likely need to start NG+ at least once to pull that off [x] (Ian later tweeted that it might be possible to do it in one run, but he doubts it, and added that you’ll likely need more than one run to pull it off [x]). You can do more than one NG+ with the same character [x]
◾More info to come on modding and crafting [x]
◾There’s definitely no first person view [x]
◾Drack was described as “grizzled” and someone who loves to blow things up [x]
◾Supposedly nobody knows how long krogan can live as they do not tend to die of old age [x]
◾vfx and colors for abilities are set, we don’t select those [x]
◾Dpad and left analogue stick both work when navigating through menus [x]
◾Cora and Drack are a fun combination in combat, especially if you spec him for fire priming and her for charges that detonate combos [x]
◾If I’m interpreting the tweets right, the meeting Drack scene was one of a cinematic designer’s favorite scenes to work on [x]. Tom Taylorson commented that it was one of the easiest scenes to voiceact for (just ‘obvious’ how to perform due to the awesomeness of the writing) [x].
◾There’s no crouch button, you automatically crouch when you take cover against something low [x]
◾We can switch profiles in the field. They’ll be showing more about the Favorites feature in the next gameplay vid [x]
◾The game is SLi friendly (edit: I think this means SLi compatible, it’s a specs thing, see here/here) [x]
◾Jason Eldred (gameplay designer) is the person to thank for Ryder being able to hold and control Pulls. Apparently he’s done some really cool stuff with the powers [x]
◾In multiplayer there are only drops, not a crafting system like in DA:I. You can apply mods to weapons, but it is not crafting exactly [x]
because the fun dont stop i guess. @tibermoon’s tweets are a goldmine tbh
◾When you start NG+, your level carries over, along with most of your non-narrative progression [x]
◾Some weapons and armor are only craftable for narrative reasons, but most drop as loot [x]
◾Squad commands will be covered in the next gameplay vid [x]
◾Adjectives which most describe Cora in Andromeda, per her writer: “ Professional, supportive, fearless.” [x]
◾Seems the game’s ESRB rating has been updated a bit [x]. “Partial nudity” now reads just “nudity”

◾In multiplayer you can reach max level and then start again from level 1 if you want [x]. Q. “But will this promotion give u any benefits (like ME3MP N7 rating or DAIMP stats; maybe achievements)?” -> A. “No, we’d call this “resetting.” We don’t do promotions, but we have another mechanic that serves that role” [x]
◾You can’t really get stuck in cover as it is now not magnetic but all very fluid and smooth [x]. To enter cover all you have to do is approach with your gun drawn - “Your body animation and an icon in the HUD help msg that you’re in cover.” [x]
◾Peebee’s writer (who wrote the Sith Warrior storyline in SW:TOR) says that there are some similarities between Vette (SW companion) and Peebee but that Peebee is a very different character [x]
◾Peebee’s writer wrote another character in the game too [x]
◾You can swap camera shoulder whenever you want for optimal visibility [x]
◾Characters pop in and out of the Nomad as opposed to an exit/enter animation. There used to be such an animation in development but it was removed as they found it annoying [x]
◾Using the Nomad with 4 or 6 wheel changes the way it feels and handles, especially on steep inclines [x]
◾There’s an answer to why the N7 Piranha, a weapon that was designed for the Reaper War, appears in the game [x]
◾Q. “Through crafting, can you use resources to upgrade your gun to higher levels? ie level up a Mattock I to a Mattock IV?” -> A. “ Yes and no. You don’t “upgrade” a gun from III to IV, per se, but you can outright craft a IV.” [x]
◾Ryder holds the foregrip of SMGs properly (in contrast to the original trilogy); the animation team did some extra magic for SMGs [x]
◾Q. “So what are the chances Cerberus will be in the ME timeline?” -> A. “Low.” [x]
◾Aaryn Flynn re-emphasized that there are relationships that do not culminate in sex [x]
◾High impact sniper rifles are definitely in the game [x]
◾Loot/crates in multiplayer is ME3-style [x]. They say they’ve made improvements to the rng (for drop rates etc) [x]
◾Keep an eye on IGN for upcoming Andromeda coverage [x]
◾Q. “Can you only equip skills of certain types depending on which profile you’re in?” -> A. “Nope. Only equip restriction is on how many weapons you can carry at once (2-4). That’s based on the Combat Fitness skill.” [x]

◾In case there was any doubt: multiplayer classes are preset, the changing of profiles is unique to Ryder in singleplayer due to narrative reasons [x]
◾Not all previous (trilogy) weapons return, but many do [x]
◾Q. “Is Drack’s left hand, right arm, or leg(s) prosthetic? Hard to tell with his armor.” -> “You’ll have to ask him. Hopefully he’s not offended by the question.” [x] + “He probably will. He has an attitude” [x]
◾Keep an eye out because they aren’t confirming or denying any skills yet beyond what they’ve shown [x]
◾You can equip pistols and SMGs at the same time - in fact you can equip multiple copies of the exact same gun if you want [x]. Note that you can’t dual-wield, this refers to carrying multiple copies of the same weapon on your back/person at the same time.
◾In terms of squad composition, Peebee is built primarily for support, so compliments pretty much anyone well [x]
◾Biotic charge and tactical cloak is possible [x]
◾All purchased passives are permanently enabled regardless of active profile. Your profile adds to the awesomeness of the skills/powers you’ve chosen to invest in; it doesn’t limit or take them away [x]
◾Essentially there are 3 types of weapons - ballistic, plasma and laser - plus a few special cases like the Reegar Carbine [x]
◾Seems like there’s some way for Ryder to move up and around using biotic powers, not just the jump-jet [x]
◾Gamble tweeted that Vetra takes her visor off during sex, unless she’s analyzing something [x]. Q. “But can a female Ryder romance her???”? -> A. “Gonna make sure we keep some surprises. Maybe try flirting with her?” [x] LI confirmation? Make of it what you will.
◾Switching power loadouts on the fly includes during combat. More on this (including how it looks [x]) in the next gameplay vid [x]
◾PAX East is March 10th-12th. Gamble isn’t sure if BioWare will have their own theatre there this year, but they will definitely have a panel, and it’s gonna be big [x]
◾The skill in the tech section which is listed as unknown (see here) is apparently a “special case” of some kind [x]
◾They don’t currently offer upgrades for a physical copy of the game to Deluxe or Super Deluxe edition [x]
◾Crafting is entirely optional and intended to be “not a hideous grind” when it comes to getting resources. And of course, you can get weapons from loot and merchants too [x]
◾They fixed the issue where the skip button would select a dialogue option [x]
◾Q. “Is there a way to tune down a bit the fast pace combat 4 below average players like me that didn’t really enjoy the ME3 MP?” -> “Yes. There’s 5 difficulty levels. And you can auto level-up your character & squad. So you can focus on story or exploration if you prefer” [x]
◾Ammo powers are now consumables accessed from the weapons wheel, not like how they were in the trilogy [x]

◾Joanna Berry (writer for Cora and Kallo) will be at PAX East and will share more details when they become available [x]. PAX East is March 10th-12th. (From a previous post: “Gamble isn’t sure if BioWare will have their own theatre there this year, but they will definitely have a panel, and it’s gonna be big [x]”)
◾Q. “I loved the weird guns in ME3, excited for the reegar but will we see the likes of Venom, chakram launcher, Kishock etc. return?” -> A. [gif] “It’s a possibility” [x]
◾Number of saves is limited only by disk space [x]
◾Sniping and biotic charging from an airborne position (having jumped/jump-jetted) are Things [x]
◾Q. “In Andromeda will we be able to be “romancing” multiple characters at the same time?” -> A. “it depends on the characters” [x]
◾With the right skill choices it is possible to biotically Pull 2 guys at once and then Throw them both at 2 separate targets [x]. You can also set them on fire [x]
◾In multiplayer the lobby/findgroup system is similar to ME3. There are no region restrictions but the matchmaking system tries to find good ping [x]
◾Environmental hazards are managed by the life support system and do not affect powers or weapons [x]
◾There are alternate controller schemes and they apply to both singleplayer and multiplayer [x]
◾Some elements of the HUD can be toggled off or set to hide after a delay (vs staying on permanently) [x]
◾“Ruzad” (krogan word for “judge”/”judgement” and the name of a shotgun Drack prefers) is pronounced “roo-ZADD” [x]

◾Aaryn Flynn tweeted this image (they were fooling around putting screenshots through Prisma) [x]. Apparently this Angara is a quest NPC, designed with the help of a friend from the "Make a Wish” foundation [x].
◾Q. “Just wondering how the swapping works for example. 3 slots but potential 12 skills total, how do we swap them - hotkey faves?” -> A. “ yup, and off of the radial menu option” [x]
◾Sara and Scott character kits have been updated, apparently the devs were still learning the tools when they posted the originals [x]
◾You can customize the colors of your casual outfits, not just your armor! [x]
•The biotic skill Warp doesn’t return but its functionality has been absorbed into other powers [x]

•In case you were wondering, all the stats in the recent gameplay vid were real stats [x]
•Q. “If you can answer: In the MEA CC, do you get the same preset options for your twin that you would if you were playing them?” -> “Yes” [x]

•Q. “I know the XB1 will be 900p resolution for Andromeda - any idea on what the XB1 S will run at? Closer to PS4 Pro?” -> “No they’d be the same. The internals of those two machines are near-identical“ [x]

•Q. “Can we use a mix of weapons from the Milky Way, Revenant and Helius Cluster at the same time?” -> A. “Yup”. [x]

•As seen in gameplay vids, holstering weapons returns [x]
•Color customization for armor uses an RGB wheel - so you can literally have any color! [x]
•Some of the helmets have reflective visors. We do not control the reflectiveness though [x]
•Visuals with dust/snow/grim on armor start out minimal then get more pronounced the longer you’re on a planet [x]

    •“Hide helmet” option returns [x]

•There are fully automatic pistols [x]
    •Tech armor returns [x]
    • 3 mapped powers, quickly switchable via Favorites, is how the game works on all platforms. But on PC you can hotkey your favorites [x]
    • It’s possible to keep crafting or buying higher rank versions of the same armor over time (so if you like a particular armor set you can keep the aesthetic while upgrading) [x]
•There is no simulated camera bob like some FPS games have (since it’s a third person game). There is a little bob while on uneven terrain however [x]
    • Full skill point re-specs are possible in the Tempest medbay, but they cost credits. The first time is cheap [x]

•Q. “If all face presets are modeled, does that mean no head-morphing?” -> A. “You can still do morphs (nose size, eye height, etc.), but the base you’re starting from is a scanned head.” [x]
•Q. “You got help from @needforspeed team on the ND1. Did @ea_DICE give a hand for weapons once again? Other “specialists” involved?” -> A. “Not the guns, no, that was all internal. We got help in other areas, though, such as rendering.” [x]
•An IGN writer has written a 2000 word Andromeda preview article that should surface on IGN on Thursday [x]. Gamble tweeted that it’s “long and thoughtful, just like the game” [x].
•Cora has a face model [x] (this was a fair assumption though, given that Liam has one). Ian wasn’t able to tell us who she is [x]

•There are currently no plans for platform-exclusive DLC [x]. Not that this was much of a concern, as the game is not being released on old-gen consoles
•If you earn Vetra’s trust, she’s always got your back [x]
•They cannot release the CC separately in the form of a demo prior to release [x]. Sorry to kill peoples’ hopes on that one
•Squadmates can respec [x]. I’m assuming that this means that their allocated points can be reset to be re-spent within the confines of their character’s limited pool of skills, not that everyone shares the same unique ability of switching between profiles that Ryder due to narrative reasons.
•Q. “Will Andromeda’s multiplayer have something like ME3’s weekend challenges? I loved coming home fridays to a new one each week!” -> A. “a little different, but weekends will be.. special” [x]
•The next gameplay vid will cover squadmates levelling up in some way [x]. It seems it will also cover giving orders to squadmates (or rather, show the extent to which this is possible) and show the extent to which multiplayer and singleplayer gameplay differs [x]
•Lore-wise, they say the game is very beginner-friendly. They wanted new players to be able to hop in to MEA easily without playing the trilogy first [x]
•Health works differently now. It neither regens like in ME2 nor makes use of consumables to regen like in ME3 [x]
•Q. “does enemy behavior change with the difficulty level? If so, can you give us an example?” -> A. “Yeah, they become more aggressive in various ways. See some examples here” [x]. That link goes to a post on BSN Ian made recently where he goes into this subject in more detail
•The shade of blue Ryder’s hair is in this piece of fanart is apparently available as an option in the CC [x]. I’d say it’s like, cyan? Anyway, from this it seems reasonable to assume that there will be several bright/non-natural options. iirc in ME3 Shepard had access to a couple.
•You will never run into ammo for Milky Way weapons in Andromeda, but you’ll find raw material that can be field-repurposed into thermal clips via your omnitool quite often [x]. This conversion happens automatically (there is no omnitool crafting screen for it) [x].
•Mechanically speaking, you’ll find ammo at a rate similar to that of ME3′s [x]
•Q. “Will there only be horde/wave mode? I heard about strike force but it didnt sound like the normal multiplayer.” -> A. “The core is always like ME3, yes. PVE against escalating waves of enemies + objectives. But APEX Missions mix things up.” [x]
•If I’m interpreting these tweets right, the default faces of Sara and Scott cannot be edited/customized in CC [x]
•Expect info on CC (among other things) from the press tomorrow (Feb 23rd), since the embargo lifts and they’re allowed to discuss their previews and what they saw including chargen [x]
    - They are taking inspiration from all three Mass Effect games – the exploration and vehicle from ME1, the relationships and loyalty missions from ME2 and the fun gameplay from ME3.
    - With the Nomad they are trying to do the Mako right – they realised ME1 players had a strong attachment to it, even if the handling was sometimes frustrating.
    - A lot of the game was developed using recordings from text-to-speech software as placeholders, until the actual voice acting was done.
    - They are going to try to gradually introduce game content step-by-step at first, to stop the player from feeling overwhelmed.
    - If you want you can spend hours at some of the hubs exploring and talking to everyone before you start on missions.
    - This is the first game Fabrice has worked on where he hasn’t been able to personally play all the content in it.
    - They are trying to focus on keeping Ryder and the player at the same level, in terms of knowledge about the setting and abilities/experience. Ryder grows as a character as you play.
    - He thinks there are still a lot of deep RPG mechanics underpinning the game, but nowadays there is an emphasis on trying to make the rules invisible, so as to not hinder immersion. Traditional RPGs are part of BioWare’s DNA and a lot of the people there are fans of pen-and-paper RPGs.
    - They want to make every location memorable and distinctive – want players to instantly be able to call up memories of a location.
    - Some of the developers have been looking at anthropology books to read about first contact between cultures.
    - They are trying to make the game feel credible, rather than 100% realistic.
    - The game is being built by smaller teams than is the norm at some other companies – they want the developers to feel a sense of ownership and connection to the content they are building.
    - The Witcher 3, Overwatch and Destiny are some of the other games that the developers have been playing.
    - They are trying to inject more narrative into the co-op multiplayer (he didn’t elaborate on this).
    - Vetra is his favourite character [out of the ones he can name right now; he said his true favorite is spoilery]

    Standard

I need to get my blood flowing. Find me something to kill!
This is my kind of vacation. Lots of scenery and lots of killing.
We're not settlers, we're warriors. We want to fight!
